During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Vidya revealed that she initially didn’t believe her part in ‘Chak De! India’ would become so popular. She said, “I did not think that Chak De! India would become like this and that my part would become so popular. I read the script and liked it. I wanted to be a part of the film. We never worked with the mindset that the film would do very well.”

I had shot for an ad film with SRK just two days before I signed Chak De! India, but that time I didn’t tell him that I had auditioned for the part.”
Vidya also shared how Shah Rukh assisted other girls in facing the camera, she even called Shah Rukh a ‘generous actor’. She further added, “He would keep guiding all the other girls because a lot of them had never faced the camera before. He would make the scene our own and not just about him.”
