Shah Rukh Khan reveals KKR players Andre Russel and Rinku Singh share a ‘strong bond’: ‘It is Jai-Veeru friendship’ | Hindi Movie News

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is a proud owner of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, reveals that every member of the team has a close, familial tie with one another. The actor particularly talked about the bond between cricket star Rinku Singh and West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell.
During an interview with Star Sports, Shah Rukh provided his fans with a better look at the inner workings of the IPL team. The actor called Andre ‘too sweet’ and disclosed he cannot have ‘serious conversations’ with the cricket player. Off the field, the actor called Andre ‘gentle’, quipped that he stays that way when he’s dancing.
SRK shared, “Our conversations are usually about making sure he remains fit. Venky and the whole team go out of their way to train him throughout the year. If there’s any problem, he tells us because he’s such a wonderful sportsman, such a wonderful person to be around, and such a great cricketer. He reminds us of the first big man, ‘Universe Boss’ Mr. Gayle.
He further added, “He’s like that, and I love the fact that he’s very fashion-conscious. He likes to dress well, do his hair. Apart from all these great qualities, he’s lovely with the younger boys. Rinku and he have such a strong bond, like the Jai-Veeru friendship. They’re so different, yet they love each other and help each other as cricketers and as people.”
During the show, the star also talked about current franchise mentor Gautam Gambhir and Sunil Narine, who is a regular at KKR. He called Sunil a “superman” and the person his kids, Aryan and Suhana, “love the most”.
Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude to Gautam Gambhir, who guided KKR to the IPL championships in 2012 and 2014, mentioning the cricketer’s noteworthy contribution to the team’s earlier triumphs. He also joked that he hoped the former KKR skipper would learn dancing soon.
He further shared that he had promised Gautam that as they went along, he would learn certain habits from them, such as dancing and being happy. However, the remarkable aspect of Gautam Gambhir being back with them was that he never felt like he had left. There are certain friendships that remain intact regardless of the circumstances. Whether he was a part of their team or mentoring someone else, there was never any animosity or competition with him. SRK added that even when Dinesh Karthik plays well, he still calls him and expresses his appreciation and says, “You played well, my friend. I wish you had performed like this for us.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will soon start with the shooting of his latest actioner ‘The King’, co-starring his daughter Suhana Khan. The film is scheduled to be released next year.
